Biography

Prior to her appointment at 91制片厂, Monica Sorescu held a postdoctoral position at Oklahoma State University. Additionally, she gained valuable experience through visiting positions at Universit訐t des Saarlandes, Saarbr眉cken, University of California, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University.

Monica's field of expertise lies in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science. She is deeply engaged in investigations of structure-property relationships crucial for the rational construction of new magnetic materials. Monica employs laser pulses and particle beams to obtain amorphous and nanocrystalline magnetic materials with precisely controlled properties. Her repertoire of investigation techniques includes M缨ssbauer spectroscopy, magnetic measurements, X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and thermal analysis. These methodologies are detailed in her latest book, "Recent Applications of the M缨ssbauer Effect," published by Dorrance Publishing Company in 2020.

With generous funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Petroleum Research Fund, and Research Corporation, Monica has been able to mentor over 35 students and three postdoctoral researchers.
